High-Level Project Summary
I developed a high-fidelity prototype of a EO Learning Portal. This portal allows users to find EO training courses in a user friendly manner. The portal helps users find trainings and data resources in a quick and clear manner. If more people are able to understand and learn about the importance of EO, better environmental policies and research can be obtained. As global warming, natural disasters and ecological changes effect our planet, it is important for the public to understand the science behind Earth. NASA and other agencies have vast amounts of incredibly useful EO data that is hard to find in one central source. A central resource is needed.

Detailed Project Description
I designed a UX/UI prototype that represents my solution for this challenge.
Tools Used:
- Figma (Prototyping)
- Canva (Graphic design),
- Unsplash (Royalty free photos)
- Iconify Figma Plugin (Iconography)
- NASA E.O. Imagery
I developed a centralized platform to help educators, lawmakers and students find EO training resources. Currently EO resources and courses are scattered amongst the internet over hundreds of websites.
My portal aims to improve usability and make finding trainings easier. If lawmakers, educators and students are able to understand EO through trainings, they can help protect our planet and foster climate action.
My portal offers:
- Directory: Find trainings and data resources.
- Quiz: Get matched to trainings that fit your needs.
- Filter: Filter through trainings to find relevant offerings. Filter by type, location, topics covered, language, skill level or occupation.
- Gamification: Earn points and track progress for completing trainings. Earn space themed badges!

Space Agency Data
Portal utilizes:
- Imagery from NASA Earth Data
- Imagery from NASA Earth Observatory
- NASA ARSET Training Catalog Excel Sheet
Hackathon Journey
I learned so much during the scale of the hackathon. This was my first ever hackathon. I found the challenges very fascinating and the time crunch exciting. I definitely would like to attend future events.
I chose this challenge because I am a UX Designer and Political Scientist. I understand that for many in politics, EO data and resources may be confusing, hard to understand and difficult to navigate.
In order to make informed policy making decisions about environmental policy, lawmakers must be able to understand EO data/findings. Trainings educate them on these topics.
