High-Level Project Summary

The value of information is found in sharing it.The problem presented is having the accessibility and discoverability of all available information from NASA and associated agencies.To solve this problem, a bot was developed using artificial intelligence, which can enter from the different social media platforms with which it interacts through natural language.To develop the project we were driven by the great desire to support people from different places to learn and promote research.We used, the ability of artificial intelligence to interact with the human being, through natural language.

Detailed Project Description

The Talos project is an artificial intelligence bot that interacts with the person through natural language. The person makes the query of those who want to investigate and the robot, through the decisions already learned, responds with the available information.


The artificial intelligence robot works in the following way: firstly, it is fed with information from NASA's open resources, in this way the robot has information that it will later show to the person.


After being fed with the information, a selection of the most general topics is made so that the person can then select one of the fields of interest, as the information is entered and the person consults, the robot learns and makes the connections of themes and their relationship.


The benefit of the project is to provide accessibility and promote the capacity for research and discovery, for young people and adults in the country of Costa Rica and, if possible, beyond the borders. In an easy and friendly way that promotes interaction and the ability to wonder.


It is hoped that the youth and adults of Costa Rica can approach and access the valuable information of the Nasa repositories, and at the same time facilitate their investigations.


The dialog flow tool was used, which through artificial intelligence performs an understanding of natural language and facilitates conversation. It was also integrated with the Telegram and Facebook platforms.

Space Agency Data

The resources indicated by NASA were used to carry out the research and approach to the project in a way that helps to focus the main idea of ​​the project.


In addition to feeding the main topics for the robot, the NASA STI Scope and Subject Category Guide document was used, in this way the robot makes its decisions and iterations focused on these topics.

Hackathon Journey

My experience was very profitable and valuable for my personal and professional growth. It drives us to improve and always look for solutions and the improvement of society.


Learn from the planning and development of projects, as well as new concepts and terms of technology, aerospace, a freely available resource for people to investigate and generate knowledge.


In addition to tools for project development which are very useful.


I am inspired by the desire to learn, to carry out the challenge with unity, in addition to the fact that the product of the project can help people.


The focus of the project was to create a final product that supports the research.
