HERO SIRUIS AND SPACE CHALLENGES

High-Level Project Summary

We set out with the information we found in the resources (NASA, the Canadian Agency, the Mexican Agency) to create an innovative game, where the game introduces us to the challenges faced by astronauts and the appropriate solutions for each challenge, where we chose three challenges, which are Radiation carcinogenesis, Expired medicines and Kidney stones . We have explained the solutions in a way that is easy for the player to understand.

Detailed Project Description

Astronauts encountered many problems and hardships millions of years ago. After a complete study of NASA's resources, we discovered that some of them had been overcome and that NASA was currently building and researching others. Our project (Biological Superhero Challenge) is a game that teaches players about the challenges and issues they could face as well as strategies for overcoming them (solutions found in NASA resources) With NASA, we believe that youngsters will learn that access to space is not impossible. To create this project, we used Canva and the Python programming language.

The many stages of radiation carcinogenesis are one of the difficulties faced by astronauts. The superhero is exposed to radiation in three phases in this initial version of the game. The astronaut will experience the least harmful radiation carcinogenesis in the first stage, and it will be treated using a radio that will allow for communication between experts on the ground and the astronauts so they may be informed of the risky radiation areas to avoid them. The area will be more radioactive in the third stage, so the astronaut will need to use a protective shield (in each step, we will instruct the astronaut on how to properly handle the area of dangerous radiation zones).

Thus, after conquering several challenges, the player has successfully arrived at his destination.

Space Agency Data

We used the resources on the site, such as NASA, the Canadian Agency, and the Mexican Agency, where we used them in our project by extracting information related to the challenges that we chose (we chose the challenges from the mentioned risks by NASA) such as: radiation carcinogenesis, kidney stones, The expiration date of the medicine. We found in these agencies information about every danger and its source in space, as well as solutions to these problems. We distributed the work among the team to read the review and summarize the ideas. These resources helped us work more quickly as we did not have to deviate from them because they were comprehensive, our project became more accurate

Hackathon Journey

Hackathon was a wonderful and enriching experience that taught us a lot of skills and gained a lot of experience, such as: Looking at the resources of NASA and other agencies, we benefited from this additional scientific enrichment. Working in a tight time frame also helped bring in data creatively, and we also learned about design software. By designing an innovative game and designing cartoon characters, we also gained planning and time management skills (time was too short) and knowing how to solve problems. We faced many challenges which we overcame through cooperation and teamwork.

We chose this challenge specifically to answer the question (What happens to the astronaut and other creatures in space? How do they face challenges? How do they get health care?) and also because we want to educate people about NASA's efforts to solve these problems by designing an innovative game.
