Super Bio

High-Level Project Summary

Super Bio is a multiplataform app that will help people understand about the effects of space traveling in different organisms and what is the NASA doing about them. The player will be challenged with a series of missions aimed to expose them to all the different situations in space.

Detailed Project Description

What exactly does it do? How does it work?

The player is challenged with a series of questions which will lead them to the moon if they answer correctly.

What benefits does it have?

The app has educational value since the questions are based on information provided by the NASA.

What do you hope to achieve?

We hope to generate curiosity in the children and that they can learn while having fun.

What tools, coding languages, hardware, or software did you use to develop your project?

We developed the prototype using CorelDraw and some of the images were designed using Adobe Photoshop.

Space Agency Data

All the information we used was taken from the resources section of the challenge. The idea was to divide this information in little pieces and present them in the form of simple questions.

The questions (at least for the first mission) can be classified into five categories, based on the different hazards of space traveling: radiation, gravity, isolation, distance and hostile environments.

Some small capsules of information are shown as well between loadings, winning and losing screens.

Hackathon Journey

Our experience was really positive, we learned a lot and meet a lot of people with all kind of skills. Our team itself was formated in the event, we all just meet here. While we develop the prototype for the app we learn about app design and marketing. On the other hand, when we started to create the questions we learned about the hazards of space traveling and the effects it produces on different types of organisms.

We resolved all the challenges as a team, always communicating our ideas and giving instant feedback. We would like to thank the mentors of the event for being so predisposed to help us for any questions we had.
