The Versatile

High-Level Project Summary

Our team’s goal is to make a website that can grab people's attention from diverse cultures, and age groups to read more and know that exploring the space isn't as easy as they think. We made a website that has 3 different sections to be suitable for our target. The first focuses on children, a game related to space, and when they lose, it gives them information about astronomy. Next, we have articles that we wrote about the stresses that astronauts face for people that love to read information, also we made a superhero that has excellent features to tackle those problems. Lastly, a series of educational videos that are made for visual learners by a character named Octivia.

Detailed Project Description

We chose to make a website that will raise awareness among our community about the stresses that astronauts face in space in a fun and interesting way. Of course, this wouldn't have been done without using technology, whether programming or artificial intelligence. First, we created the website using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Each of these languages has a specific purpose. HTML was utilized to show webpage components such as text, hyperlinks, and media files. CSS on the other hand was used to enhance the website with attractive animation text styles, sizes, positioning, colors, and other features that would attract readers to spend their time learning. While JavaScript enabled us to add dynamic behavior and interesting effects to the webpage. The second thing that we used was artificial intelligence, we used a website called color thief which is responsible for determining the codes of the colors used in our website. Using artificial intelligence was an extremely helpful thing as it helped us to choose just the right colors for our website that would be attractive to our audience.

Space Agency Data

we depend on trusted websites to collect data that we added to our articles and used to choose our solution, we found a website called PubMed which had valuable information about every topic we needed, it explained from both anatomy and astronomy point of view. Also, we searched for the stresses on NASA's website.

Hackathon Journey

It was an amazing experience to join this competition even though we haven't been qualified for global nomination because we learned from the feedback of the judging to be better the next time in addition to working on two categories at the same time which were biology and computer science which we used to make a website that is suitable for every age group. Also, we learned how to know the interests of each age group and how to attract the attention of people from every backgroend and how to make what we present exciting to read. We chose this challenge because we are interested in biology and astronomy at the same time so we decided to choose what will be suitable for them.
