High-Level Project Summary

We have developed a simulation to provide solutions to different space exploration stresses using Roblox. It is designed in 2 levels. The player explores the game field at each level to find different solution items. Our project provides users with information about other biological organisms, plants, and behavioural therapies which can help them work like a Superhero without letting their bodies be a reason to fail the mission.

Detailed Project Description

What exactly does it do? How does it work?

In the 1st level, the character spawn in a base in which it can change its outfit into those of an astronaut and after that, it can start its mission by first going into a tunnel where there is less oxygen so the character has to collect a snake plant it emerges out of the tunnel the character morphs into a cat when sensing lunar radiation and once it emerges out of the light it transforms into itself after which it has to climb onto a platform that leads to a zipline which to takes you to a rocket simulation and a power boosting drink after which there is a teleporter which takes you to level 2.

Level 2 starts near a NASA-themed tent which is also near a few cockroaches why not pick them up and store them later you might need them for refreshment as tea, sushi etc.

as we don’t want to overload the player after which you go to another platform where you walk rocks which makes your foot gets injured then you sit on the chair to see the injury and then you remember the cockroaches you picked up earlier and you used their DNA to heal yourself faster then, you have to find a ladder in which you proceed upon an obstacle course after that you are rewarded with a jetpack then you will be teleported to the ISS where you will need it to navigate through the ISS into a few rooms like the electrical room research room docking station after that the game will end.

What tools, coding languages, hardware, or software did you use to develop your project?

We used Roblox studio, and the language is Lua.

OUR GOAL

We hope that our idea will be used in future space missions. it will help in small but hard-to-solve problems like pressure change during a rocket launch, limited supplies, sleep deprivation, limited access to high medical care etc.

Food is grown in space to avoid sailor’s scurvy

A lack of vitamin C was all it took to give sailors scurvy, and vitamin deficiencies can cause a number of other health problems. Simply packing some multivitamins will not be enough to keep astronauts healthy as they explore deep space. They will need fresh produce.

Right now on the space station, astronauts receive regular shipments of a wide variety of freeze-dried and prepackaged meals to cover their dietary needs – resupply missions keep them freshly stocked. When crews venture further into space, travelling for months or years without resupply shipments, the vitamins in prepackaged form break down over time, which presents a problem for astronaut health.

NASA is looking at ways to provide astronauts with nutrients in a long-lasting, easily absorbed form—freshly grown fresh fruits and vegetables. The challenge is how to do that in a closed environment without sunlight or Earth’s gravity. NASA - Plants in Space

How do plants grow in space?

The gravity pulls the roots down in the ground and light pulls the stems upward. Scientists have developed special containers to help guide plants' growth in the right direction in space. Space can be a dark place. Growing Plants in Space | NASA

Psychological effects in Space

  • Problem(still needs a solution): Oxygen is hard to replenish and recycle, radiation is stronger in space(no ozone layer to protect like earth), food is not easily grown and therefore not replenishable, and sleep patterns are disrupted.

  • Solution(to another problem): Tardigrades survive the vacuum in space by curling into a ball called a “tun” which is hard to destroy. The “tun” can only be destroyed by being exposed to hot water for an extended period of time.

Hackathon Journey

Sana the Gamer, Nidanth the curious one, Armaan the funny bone, Vishvanath the explorer, Insiya the hidden one, we together would like to share our hackathon journey as given below=

The space apps challenge was very entertaining and fun we really enjoyed participating in it

we really loved it as it really stood out from all the other challenges we have participated in.

we learned so many things like the fact that space travel isn't as easy as we imagined and that astronauts are risking their lives to explore space!

we also learned about different mixtures that can be used to help astronauts' bodies heal, how much G force a rocket gives, do plants grow in space, which plant can give the most oxygen, and what the best organism can survive the harsh conditions of space. We all collaborated on the project, by sharing ideas and different facts and we also sorted what was required in our simulation.

The reason we chose this challenge is that Astronauts are having too many problems which are simple but hard to solve so we wanted to help solve that problem and when we become astronauts we would use this same idea to survive space travel. our approach was to make a game on Roblox because we can do anything in Roblox so it will be easier to make the project and also it will make the game fun and entertaining while also learning the difficulties of spaceflight. We resolved multiple setbacks by using alternatives and also thinking creatively! Miles apart we still are together at heart! THANK YOU ALL for helping us go through this very special moment in our life. Thank you to all these people :) @UWR @Jithin Ma'am @Bansan Sir @Akhila Ma'am
