High-Level Project Summary
Imagine if each individual could feel what it’s like to be part of a space mission and its challenges? Imagine feeling the vibration of a rocket’s engines, feeling the excitement of the Overview Effect, imagine landing on the Moon, imagine walking on Mars! We chose to portray, through arts, music and technology, the impact that Artemis Program will have on the arrival of the first humans on Mars, detailing the human perspective on what it will mean to become an interplanetary civilization.

Detailed Project Description
In the last few years, we’ve seen great popularity in interactive videos on some streaming platforms, but we didn't find interactive videos that explore space missions. Through this creative tool, we want to connect children and youth from all over the world with the space program, we want to prepare them through art to become the Mars generation.
The interactive video we created is like the first episode of a series, in which the viewer can interact with the story, continuing the journey narrated by one of the astronauts of the mission. We want to create more options so the video will have ramifications, inviting curious people to explore different scenarios.
Also, showing the human side of space missions is something that we believe is very important, so we can create a bond with the characters, we can put ourselves in their place. This is the reason that led us to tell, in parallel, the beginning of the story of one of the astronauts of the mission. In this way, we want to create an approach to the reality of children and teenagers, who are usually natural scientists and explorers.
We believe that music can bring hope and broaden people’s imagination, so we included songs created by one of the members, Gabriel, thinking about how we could demonstrate this to people, how we could demonstrate our love for space.
The music used throughout the interactive video is original and was produced through the DAW program. To make the sound of the instruments, we use a piano and the program that simulates the sound of instruments.
For video editing, we used the Adobe After Effects program at the beginning and then Sony Vegas. To make the interactive video, we used the Mindstamps website. All the art, songs and production were made by us, through open sources available on internet, including videos that are not from NASA.
Space Agency Data
We used videos, images and articles from NASA to produce the video script. This data inspired us and brought us even more ideas for the continuity of the project. Through these resources, we made a time diagram that helped us put estimated dates throughout the narrative.
We found a lot of information and simulations of the technologies that will be developed throughout the Artemis program, which helped us to know which parts we should prioritize in this first interactive episode.
Hackathon Journey
Throughout these two days of Hackathon, we have developed audiovisual and artistic production skills in record time, put all our dedication and creativity into this project. It was an amazing experience for us, we shared visions and ideas that together turned into a beautiful job. We will finish this Hackathon even more motivated to inspire people.
