GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

THE DRONE WHICH WILL SAVE THE FUTURE: T-DRONE

High-Level Project Summary

We developed a collector drone for space trash(satellite, rocket parts, etc.). T-Drone takes off from the station, collects the space rubbish with a net, and pushes them out of Earth's orbit. Then T-Drone goes a little bit far from World and pushes the space trashes to the Sun. Then T-Drone goes back to the station for filling. Our project is important because in a long time period space junk around the Earth will be a serious problem for humans.

Detailed Project Description

We wrote what our drone does to high-level project summary. It works with fuel and it will work with codes by itself but if there is a bad condition it will be managed remotely. It has some benefits. It will clean useless satellites and rocket parts from the space junk around our Earth. It has a big range of movement. We hope to clean most of the space trash with it. We used Blender program for modeling it. We didn't use any coding language, hardware or software because we didn't take this project to real life yet.

Space Agency Data

While deciding our problem, we searched through NASA's and some space related websites. To found ideas to solve our problem we searched NASA's projects and what NASA did or going to do. For our animation we used NASA's planet textures.

Hackathon Journey

This was our first Space Apps experience and it was exciting, fun, and educational. Our animator improved his animating skills in blender application, we raised awareness about space pollution that occurs around the World. We wanted to spread facts about space so we chose this challenge, turning STEM into STEAM. Firstly we decided on our problem, then we thought of some ideas for how to solve this problem and researched at the same time. Lastly we found an idea and developed it and worked on our project. When we had a setback or a challenge initially we rested and then we tried to think more efficiently and creative. We want to thank our physics teacher, Dr. Seyit Deniz Han.
