We developed a curriculum to be implemented into high schools and middle schools so that we may introduce STEAM to the youth. The transition from STEM to STEAM will be a major contributing factor due to the fact that it will garner their interest. We accomplished our goal of putting the 'A' in STEM by using applications such as the various applications mad by Autodesk to visualize ideas. This is important to the development of the STEAM field which will aid in the overall progression of the math and science of our civilization.
This curriculum aids in the development of the STEAM field which, as previously stated, is very important to the existence of humanity. We do this by introducing STEAM applications and topics to the youth to plant these ideas allowing them to find their niche in the field if they so desire. We hope to achieve the objective of firstly, transitioning STEM to STEAM, and secondly, further devolving this field of study. The transition from STEM to STEAM will be done by using applications made from Autodesk. Autodesk provides various applications which allows engineers and visionaries to visualize their ideas. If we teach the youth to use these applications then they will be able to develop a great interest in the field as well as serve as a creative outlet. In our presentation we utilized an Autodesk application, MAYA, to render 3D models available on NASA public data catalog.
We used 3D models made available by NASA's public data catalog, specifically, the James Webb telescope. Applications like MAYA allow any interested person the ability to render any 3D model made available in NASA public data catalog.
Amanda did an amazing job running the Space Apps program in Rapid City. It was very structured and was very well planned out. We were provided with a great environment which encouraged our creative process. The food provided was more than satisfactory and we were also provided with many creative aids which helped us along in the process of developing our solution. I am glad that this program was brought to Rapid City and am excited ton participate and spread the word of this program next year.

A goal of open science is to make scientific information available to all, and original and innovative approaches can be helpful to effectively communicate scientific information to people with different cultural, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds. Your challenge is to develop a creative method that uses the arts to share and explain the design, process, and/or scientific results from a NASA or partner space agency research project to your audience—i.e., develop an approach that combines science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math (STEAM).
