High-Level Project Summary
- we developed an interactive and fun game to raise awareness about climate change among young adults of age group 8 to 24. - According to delta-x data under "Take Flight" we are tackling 4 issues: the change in grain size, sedimentation, bio mass, temperature increase. - Why a game? According to financeonline.com, 80% of U.S workers believe that gamified learning is more effective than conventional methods. - The challenge was to educate the public about a problem associated with Earth’s changing climate and we have done just that using our game that uses the above-mentioned parameters. - Using ML model, we are filtering the data and presenting in our game.

Detailed Project Description
We've used python (pygame library) to build our game.
Our game is a simple and fun game that is inspired from the data provided by NASA. (delta-X)
The main character is a fish that has to avoid the large sediments and eat shrimps to stay alive.
Hitting one sediment will deduct 2 health points, and eating one shrimp will add one health point.
but if we lost a lot of points, then our water will become contaminated with algae.
In this state of algae-contaminated water, 3 health points are deducted on hitting a sediment.
We will show popups after every game that will tell a fact about climate change.
We hope to raise awareness of climate change through this game, and this is what we hope to achieve through this game.
Space Agency Data
We have used Nasa' Delta-X data to get the information about the changes in the water, vegetation, and sediment along the Mississippi River Delta. And we use this data to show popups in the game and raise awareness of climate change and how it affects the aquatic life.
Hackathon Journey
Our experience was way better than we had expected. Our learnings were immense, we learned valuable skills like time management and working with a team and we connected with a lot of like-minded individuals.
We learned the python library pygame, phaser.io and fundamental concepts of game design and developement.
We having participated in many hackathons earlier wanted to build something different and stand out, and luckily we got the chance to do that here.
We are highly motivated to raise awareness of climate change as this will affect us all in future and we got a chance to do just that through this challenge.
We first researched about the direct and indirect impacts of climate change that was connected to the data we were provided with. Then we found a important, yet often neglected topic: marine life. Then we realised that one of the best mediums of raising awareness is mobile games.
We came across any setbacks and challenges. We were new to pygame and phaser.io and had to learn the from scratch, and faced many challenges there. We were able to overcome them through team work.
We would like to thank our mentor Piyush Chandra for guiding us through out the challenge.
