High-Level Project Summary
Although great countries have the greatest impact on climate change, it's been determined that their citizens don't attach much attention to the subject. For instance, even though the United States is in the second place in terms of carbon dioxide emission, 41% of its population don't take climate change as a major threat. The goal of the project is to educate the public in order to lower this rate and the reasons triggering climate change. Data have been acquired by scanning articles about the campaign ABoVE in NASA’s system. These data have been rearranged with a simpler language. The obtained data have been supported with images, graphics and definitions.

Detailed Project Description
Project Goal:
Although great countries have the greatest impact on climate change, it has been determined that their citizens do not attach much attention to the subject. For instance, even though the United States is in the second place in terms of carbon dioxide emission, 41% of its population do not take climate change as a major threat. The goal of the project is to educate the public in order to lower this rate and the reasons triggering climate change.
Method:
Data have been acquired by scanning articles about the campaign ABoVe in NASA’s system. These data have been rearranged with a simpler language. The obtained data have been supported with images, graphics and definitions of technical terms and made into an application.
Result:
It has been detected that most countries do not give the necessary importance to climate change. An application containing relevant data in a plain way, illustrated with images, graphs and supported with definitions have been made in order to raise awareness and educate the public.
Suggestions:
This project has the potential to be improved. Some improvements found by our team have been listed below:
- An algorithm that would update the data in time could be added.
- Contents could be varied.
- The same concept could be applied for other campaigns.
Space Agency Data
We've used NASA's official websites.
Hackathon Journey
This is our first time in Space App. Although we didn't have enough information in the beginning, we've researched as a team and we planned what we would do. It was an interesting experience. We've learned information we would have never had otherwise.
