HABITat: Good practices that build knowledge

High-Level Project Summary

We developed a platform that seeks to educate the population throught questions about common everyday attitudes, punctuating positive practices using social validation as a reward so the daily results can be shared on social networks.

Detailed Project Description

HABITat is a single-player game whose aim is to instruct people about how little practices can be useful to contribute against Climate change and its troubling effects. The game works with daily questions about users’ personal life and, based on answers, the result will show how user’s good practices are related with real troubles diagnosed by NASA’s project named FIREX-AQ. Besides that, information will be shown to warn the users about the seriousness of Climate Change problems and sharing on social media will be allowed.

In the future, the HABITat will be able to expose good examples of companies who invest and care about environmental education.

Space Agency Data

We used data from FIREX-AQ to study how CO2 is concentrating in our atmosfhre and see wich cities are most polluting. Besides that we used data from earth data portal.

This data inspired us to see the amount of co2 being emitted in our atmosphere and encouraged us to create a solution capable of reducing this.

Hackathon Journey

The entire team committed to enjoying the full experience of the Space Apps. We were focused on learning and sharing all the time, so we decided about a challenge that seems to have a lot of impact potential and fits with the group expertise.
