Hi everyone,
I’m Lily from Chicago. I’m a product designer and researcher.
Agreed.
Hey Team,
if you all go to the project tab
Maybe we can add our answers and ideas there. This way we can see the questions and each other's answers, unlike the team board where you cannot reply to specific questions. We can save the project draft. Also we can submit as many times as we want until it ends and only the final submission will be viewed so we can keep track of our ideas and progress toward developing the ideas on the project draft.
Also, feel free to read the project questions and add your ideas for answers- this is a team effort.
If you do not want to contribute anything, it is cool but please leave the group.
Thank you
Kwame, I think a demo would be best but I could contribute more to a PPT .
Is anyone else in the group able to help build a demo of the game that we could make a video of?
Also about the project name, thoughts on "JWST: A Journey Through Mirrors"
Me again, when we're done with the project, how are we going to give an overview? Are we doing the 30s video or the powerpoint?
Yes, i'm part of the team now, you can use any of the images
Yes Alexandra i agree, they can choose to see the images from a telescope like Hubble and assemble the puzzle pieces from Webb, even with that we can educate them by when they answer each question, we could give short notes to every answer outlining how they are the same picture but because of JWST's superiority the pictures are clearer
Kwame,
your quiz is awesome!!!
Are your images part of the resources we are allowed to use in the challenge?
Maybe the quantity of points you get can depend on which way you get the piece.
The puzzles can come with as few as 5 and as many as 20. What do you think?
The question levels can come in 3 categories: newbie, enthusiast, and expert.
Thoughts?
What about when they choose to view a part of the image to figure it out, (option 2) they could choose to see a view from a specific telescope. For example, if they don't know the answer, which is option 1 -to answer the question, so they try option 2, which is getting to see a part of the puzzle image and then choosing one of the multiple choice answers about the image, maybe in this option they could choose to see the part of the image from Hubble or some other telescope. OR MAYBE in the image option, they get to see a part of the puzzle and have to choose which telescope the image is from.
Thoughts?
I made it with my former team although they weren't too active or keen on it so i decided to join another team, it's my first hackathon, i'm not much of a coder but i have great question structuring skills and creativity, plus i'm a hard worker and won't let all the work fall on one person, we're a team in this as far as I'm concerned and it's a pleasure to be joining your team, thanks so much.
It's a ZIP file so could i get the email of any of you cause i can't seem to share it

Sure Joseph, gimme a sec
Kwame...Could you share the details of the quiz or a link.
I am going to research which images we are allowed to use and select a couple that I think will be good for the idea and share with the group for a vote on which one we should use for the demo.
I am Alexandra Macare and I live in Dominican Republic. JUst moved here after 9 years in Abu Dhabi. Originally from the USA.
If anyone wants to share about themselves- please do:)
We have got a great team now!!
Welcome !!
Please everyone read the basic idea message and share your idea for contributing.
Hi,
ok so we have the basic idea:
The game app is a puzzle.
The puzzle pieces reveal JWST images when they are completed.
The player can get a puzzle piece by answering questions based on text information.
Or
The player can get a puzzle piece by looking at a very close up part of the puzzle piece they trying to get and answer what the image is showing.
Or
The player can try to put the piece into the puzzle frame based on the shape. If they do this accurately the answer is revealed when they place the piece correctly.
3 way to answer.
We can generate ideas for how the points work.
We can generate puzzles that have levels of difficulty:
One level can be by the number of pieces- less pieces is easier. Or, the level can be based on the level of difficulty in the question.
We can also figure out how the players return to the game, how many puzzles do we want, what categories: nebulae, galaxies, etc...
I am finishing reading the entry rules and requirements.
Joe- can you generate some ideas for how the points could be earned?
Soumya- can generate ideas for how we could create a demo?
