Spacemen

High-Level Project Summary

-We created this project with much love and so much hard work. This site gives the summary and the plot of what our main two project contains which are the space game and the ISS project. For the site is responsible Denis Tsranski who created it, he used html for the basic structure of the site, some bootstrap to make it responsive, some css and scss to design it and of course java script to create the loading animation and pop ups in the site. For the game is responsible Julien Suleimanov. He used unity and c# to create the basic physics of the space car and blender to make the models of the planet and the space car. Borislav Sergev is responsible for creating the ISS project. He used java

Detailed Project Description

The project is to build a system that monitors the satellite in real time, so we can see where it is at any given moment in time. Works with Javascript. The advantage is that anyone around the globe can log into the site and view the location of the satellite, they just need internet access. We hope to find someone who will critique us, because criticism helps shape people. We need somebody who will help us in future, give us advice or better yet, be our mentor.

Space Agency Data

We mainly used the space agency data for the ISS project, so we can make it to move as the real time one. We just got the coordinates of the real one and simulated them into our model of our ISS proejct and it worked perfectly.

Hackathon Journey

The time spent developing this project was unique. We had 24 hours to give this project our all. We learned an important lesson and that is not to ever give up no matter what the situation is. We were motivated by the task given to us. We decided to choose one of the most difficult topics possible and give it our best shot. We started out by tracking the satellite learning how this technology worked. Then we moved onto the coding which involved making the Earth as a 3D object and then creating space and the Sun. To be able to detect the satellites we added them as 3D objects. Our team had a great deal of difficulty developing the project. The main reason for this was the motivation and because we were competing in these types of challenges for the first time. We were inspired by this challenge. We decided that we would put all of our energy into completing this project. We stayed focused during the whole process. We are thankful to the entire NASA team for giving us this opportunity. It was truly an incredible experience!

References

The site is created with bootstrap, html, css, scss and java script. Also we used some images that are free to use in our website. The game is created with unity, c# and Blender and the ISS project is created with java script and three java script. The models of the game are created by ourselves, the ISS model of the earth is created by ourselves too, we just downloaded the earth as a flat model, then we created it as a rounded as it shall be. The galaxy of the ISS project is downloaded from the internet again free to use and the sun is downloaded with free to use, we just edited the lightning of it. We didn't use any copyrighted materials, everything is written on hand and the max is maybe used some exensions to make the work faster like bootstrap (bootstrap - making the site responsive and have some ready styling methods)
