High-Level Project Summary
This game is a puzzle game that aims to cover each one of the reasons for stellar variability, and the first puzzle in this game revolves around placing the mirrors inside a telescope correctly to overcome the problem of the atmosphere interfering with observations, in real life that's solved by positioning mirrors and moving them at a certain speed many times per second, and so we made a puzzle for that process, in the future we'd like to add a puzzle for each one of the reasons for stellar variability inside the game and detailed explanations for the most curious players after each game.

Detailed Project Description
This game is a puzzle game that aims to cover each one of the reasons for stellar variability, and the first puzzle in this game revolves around placing the mirrors inside a telescope correctly to overcome the problem of the atmosphere interfering with observations, in real life that's solved by positioning mirrors and moving them at a certain speed many times per second, and so we made a puzzle for that process, in the future we'd like to add a puzzle for each one of the reasons for stellar variability inside the game and detailed explanations for the most curious players after each game.
The reason we went for a game is because we aim for an audience not necessarily interested in space and stars from the outset, therefore making learning ""accidental"" for them through the game and it's puzzles.
We used three.js javascript html css for the game and the website, so it's really not that complicated, as it's similar to one of those old flash games, therefore making it very portable.
Aims of the game:
teach people the basics about the changing stars
make the game fun an simple
integrate it into web
Our solution:
Star link is a simple puzzle game that educates people about the stars chaning brightness with out going into the details, it runs on thr browers and is very light weight !
Why our solution?:
Web based : we developed our game in web using three.js, meaning its light weight and fast!
Fun and educative :We believe our game is fun and enjoable, while still teach the players about the needed subject
Possibilty for expantion:our game has a bright future, we have many planned features and
expantions, and we believe it can have a big impact
Future plans :
FInshing touches:
- big fixed
- add basic features
- polish
big rehaul:
- UI Redesign
- more accurate information in game
- new gameplay mechanics and more puzzles
Final Release:
- more levels and character dialoge for education
- 3d animation for prologue
- deploy project
The big long term goal:
Create a puzzle game that encompasses all the reasons stellar variability exists and the solutions that exist to observe the universe and understand it in spite of it in a fun and gamified way.
Thank you!
