Exploring Stellar Variability and Dynamic Nightsky

High-Level Project Summary

The summary of our project is we have made an app which help people to understand the stellar variability through the images which will include the discription of shape and change in the size as time passes. When you open our app the first screen will appear from which user has to choose the name of constellation in which user is interested .Then it will take user to the screen which will include the information of selected constellation .The back button will help user to return to main screen. In future we will add animated video , gif , games and use Augmented Reality(AR) & Machine Learning for better understanding of stellar variability and how dynamic night sky is!

Detailed Project Description

We have created a app which will definitely help people to understand the stellar variability .When you start the application ,first interface will appear in which you have to select any constellation whose variability you want know and you will be guided to detailed description of selected constellation .On that screen you will get real view and the information about like how there name was originated ,size ,shape , difference in their size with time .In every page you will get a back button which will guide you back to main screen . We are planning to design a game where user have to identify stellar variability on the screen displayed .If the user is able to identify he will get a point and will be informed what had actually happened .The future goal of our app is to add more gifs ,videos and implement technologies like AR and Machine learning for better understanding of user.

Space Agency Data

Resource used- BRITE satellite constellation

Information about the different types of constellations was gathered from https://www.nasa.gov/audience/forstudents/k-4/dictionary/Constellation.html and simple information was collected from Google

Hackathon Journey

This platform gave us a chance to come together and to give a face to our imagination. We hope to do more such projects in future and learn from it.
