A game with universal exploration,which purpose is teaching everyone knownledge of variable stars

High-Level Project Summary

Uniexplorer, a style of universal exploring game, combines a beautiful storyline and easy gameplay. People can enjoy the story and learn about knownledge of variable stars, when they are playing. Since before our ancestor have reverie of variable stars, thus they created myths to tell offsprings what the stars are. However, to be frank, some of myth actually are not correct, so we combine modern information with video game to teach people the information of stars.

1.STORY BACKGROUND

The player drives this spacecraft is called N273. While I don't know exactly where this ship came from, it's pretty incredible. The ship has a lot of knowledge in the universe and leads me to explore the secrets in the universe. The more time I spend in the universe, the spaceship seems to peek into the universe through me bit by bit, and guides me to find something. Over time, you will naturally have feelings for the vast universe. And I am also more and more curious about the destination that this ship wants to take me to.

(1)Cepheid variable star:

"There are many, many stars in the universe that are constantly emitting light. Whenever the light of a star flickers, it is called a variable star. This is what I read on the spacecraft. Among them, Cepheids are even more special. They will brighten or dim periodically, and each time the brightness is higher, his period will be longer. Because this type of variable star is very regular in brightness, it can also be used as a measure of distance in the universe. If you want to know the distance of a galaxy, you must first find the Cepheid variable stars in this galaxy.Knowing the stars indirectly through incredible ways, sometimes I wonder, can I deduce the position of the earth from this knowledge?

In the long universe, a red light suddenly burst out in the endless night, and the culprit of this red burst is called Monocerotis in the book.I tried this to rummage around for him, and the book said: A large explosion was observed before, and probably became one of the largest star we know in a very short time after the explosion. Originally thought to be is a typical nova eruption and was later identified as the first of a new class of exploding variable stars are known as luminous red novae. The cause of the eruption remains uncertain, but several conjectures have been proposed, including an eruption related to the death of the star process and mergers of binary stars or planets. By 2009 the temperature of the supergiant had increased (since 2005) to 3,270 K and its luminosity was 15,000 times solar, but its radius had decreased to 380 times that of the Sun. So I thought that the universe is not always in a stable state.

(3)VAMPIRE STAR:

The star observed this time was called the Vampire star by the spacecraft. Their appearance is very special, to be precise, they are composed of two stars. Vampire stars are classified as Cataclysmic variable stars (CVs), a type of variable that may appear in a binary star systems, one of which is the end product of life in a Sun-like star or a white dwarf. The other is when these white dwarfs devour their companions' material like vampires, which causes a big explosion.

(4)RS Puppis:

During the long float, I looked out the window, expecting something new to happen in front of me. After a while, sure enough, a very bright star appeared in my eyes. And this star is recognized by the spacecraft as RS Puppis, a supergiant star. Because of the pulsations, it changes in size and surface temperature, and its brightness changes with them. Its maximum apparent magnitude is +6.52 and its minimum is +7.67. In this type of variable star, it also has a variable light period of up to 41.5 days, and it is the longest period in this type of variable star.
