Starfield

High-Level Project Summary

Me and my team developed a UI and web browser application that let's you to see where the stars are where they were and where they will be. It "solves" the problem by letting the user see where the stars will be and hopefully gets them excited about it. We think it is important because many people do not have the ability, or even the creative scope to see where stars will be and this can quickly and easily show them just that.

Detailed Project Description

It allows you to see the night sky and to go back and forward in time. It also allowes you to select you're location on earth. It works by using a detailed 3d map of the night sky and moving it accurately to show the movement of the stars. it has the extra benefit of letting you choose your location on earth. We used the tool "Adalo" th help with the app and we used the language C++ for most of the code.

Space Agency Data

We used the data from NASA's collaboration with google to make the map of the sky.

Hackathon Journey

our team were inspired by the wide range of things you could do with the challenge Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, my space apps experience was great. My approach to this project was to just get everything organised and see what me and my team were capable of in 2 days. One major setback was when one of our team members pc's broke and they were not able to fully participate. I would like to thank @Софья Фадеева

for being there to help throughout the project.

References

We used "Adalo" to help with the creation of the app, we also used the AI "midjourney" to create some of the artwork shown on the app, another tool we used was "https://theskylive.com/planetarium" this was what we used for the sky map.
