The NASA International Space Apps Challenge (Space Apps) is an international hackathon for coders, scientists, designers, storytellers, makers, builders, technologists, and others in cities around the world, where teams engage the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA’s) free and open data to address real-world problems on Earth and in space.

WHAT IS THE CHALLENGE ALL ABOUT?

The challenge is to make use of NASA's free and open data from https://data.nasa.gov/ in developing solutions that solve challenges related to Earth and Space. With specific instructions to be given during the Hackathon, expected outputs will be a pitch deck, a product demo and a project page on the https://www.spaceappschallenge.org/

WHEN AND WHERE IS THE HACKATHON?

This October 1 and 2, 2022 with Hackathon Venues in Tinago-Iligan and American Corner CDO, NASA Space Apps Challenge will be a face-to-face in person hackathon that brings together participants from Cagayan de Oro and Iligan to solve challenges related to Earth and Space using NASA's free and open data. Transportation allowance will be provided to the participants since all registered members of the team should be present in the venue during the entire duration of the Hackathon.

WHO CAN JOIN?

A team will be composed of 3-5 members with each members being a resident of Cagayan de Oro-Iligan having the age of 18 years old or above. After the hackathon, one winning team will be the representative for the Global Competition. Last day to apply as a participating team will be on September 23 and application results will be emailed on or before September 25.
