The International Space Apps Challenge is a two-day hackathon where teams of technologists, scientists, designers, artists, educators, entrepreneurs, developers and students across the globe collaborate and engage with publicly available data to design innovative solutions for global challenges. During the event, participants will organize into projects focused on solving a specific challenge.

Hackathon”, also adopted in Greece, is by definition of the words “hack” and “marathon.” A “hack” is a solution to an existing problem that is developed by intense innovative teamwork in a short amount of time, also known as “hacking.” A hackathon is therefore a race to solve challenges against time.

Biomimicry Greece research and innovation center in collaboration with institute of Entrepreneurship Development will be the hosts for the space apps challenge in Larisa Greece, and invite you all to become creative and active to find solutions for global challenges.

Biomimicry Greece Research and Innovation center mimic nature models, systems and strategies for the purpose of solving human problems. The center is trying to unlock the mysteries of life and help humanity in a positive way.

Το International NASA Space Apps Challenge είναι ένα διήμερο hackathon όπου ομάδες τεχνολόγων, επιστημόνων, σχεδιαστών, καλλιτεχνών, εκπαιδευτικών, επιχειρηματιών, προγραμματιστών και σπουδαστών από όλο τον κόσμο συνεργάζονται και ασχολούνται με δεδομένα που είναι διαθέσιμα στο κοινό για να σχεδιάσουν καινοτόμες λύσεις σε παγκόσμιες προκλήσεις. Κατά τη διάρκεια της εκδήλωσης, οι συμμετέχοντες θα συνεργαστούν σε διάφορα έργα που επικεντρώνονται στην επίλυση μιας συγκεκριμένης πρόκλησης για το διάστημα η την Γή.

Ο όρος «Hackathon» που έχουμε υιοθετήσει και στα ελληνικά, προέρχεται από τις λέξεις hack, δηλαδή αξίνα και marathon, μαραθώνιος. Το hackathon είναι δηλαδή ένας μαραθώνιος 2 ημερών για να βρεθεί μια λύση σε λίγο χρόνο!

O Bιομιμητισμός Ελλάδος Ερευνα και Καινοτομία σε συνεργασία με το Ινστιτούτο Ανάπτυξης και επιχειρηματικότητας διοργανώνουν το χακαθον NASA SPACE APPS στη Λάρισα και σας προσκαλεί όλους να δράσετε δημιουργικά και να βρείτε λύσεις σε παγκόσμιες προκλήσεις.

O Bιομιμητισμός Ελλάδος Ερευνα και Καινοτομία μιμείται τα μοντέλα της φύσης καθώς και τα συστήματα και στρατηγικές της φύσης με σκοπό την επίλυση ανθρώπινων προβλημάτων. Το κέντρο προσπαθεί να ξεκλειδώσει τα μυστήρια της ζωής και να βοηθήσει την ανθρωπότητα με θετικό τρόπο.
