NASA SPACE APPS CHALLENGE OUJDA
Welcome to the 2022 NASA International Space Apps Challenge - Oujda, Local Event!
YOUR LOCAL LEADS
My name is Oualid Hafraoui! I’m a member of the Space Apps Global Organizing Team. I’ll be your Event Local Lead for Space Apps 2022. I’ll be available from now until the end of the hackathon to help guide you through the journey, answer your questions, and connect you to resources. Please feel free to email me with questions at Walidhafraoui@gmail.com.
As the hackathon nears, I'll let you know about upcoming dates and events -- both for Space Apps as a whole and as I plan a few special events for Event participants, in particular.
WHAT IS OUR PURPOSE FOR SPACE APPS?
Space Apps, which started in 2012, has now become the largest global hackathon. While NASA provides awards to the top projects; Space Apps is all about collaboration! Our mission is focused on the following objectives:
- To inspire collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking
- To foster interest in Earth and space science and exploration
- To raise awareness of NASA data around the world
- To encourage the growth and diversity of the next generation of scientists, technologists, designers, engineers, artists, writers, etc.
WHO CAN BE A PART OF OUR CHALLENGE?
NASA is inviting everyone to be a part of this challenge!
This includes those who have never “hacked’ before! All passionate problem solvers are encouraged to join - students, experts, engineers, makers, artists, and storytellers. While some of our challenges are technical, others ask you to use your artistic skills, your business awareness, and your historical imagination! In other words, you do not need to be a coder or data expert to be a part of the Space Apps Challenge. In fact, diverse teams are frequently the most successful. You can make a short video explaining how climate change affects you, music, poetry, or art explaining a space mission, a fun board or video game about NASA's James Webb Space Telescope, or create your own challenge.
Imagine that your brilliant ideas are stars adorning the clear midnight sky, is it a starry night?
NASA space apps Oujda presents the annual global hackathon, Space apps.
WHAT ARE NASA SPACE APPS?
Now in its 11th year, NASA Space Apps is the world’s largest space and science hackathon! for coders, scientists, designers, storytellers, makers, builders, technologists, entrepreneurs, and everyone in cities around the world who wants to make a change, where teams engage with NASA’s free and open data to creatively address real-world problems on Earth and in space. It serves as an innovation incubation and civic engagement program that NASA and its 12 partners designed and put out challenges related to that we live through for which space enthusiasts around the world of all backgrounds are able to develop innovative solutions for it.
SAVE THE DATE!
NASA International Space Apps Challenge will be coming to you on a hybrid program starting on the 24th of September and on 01-02, 2022 an in-person hackathon.
The competition is mainly focusing on the usage of the data NASA provides you.
Believe you can do anything as long as you have the passion, the drive, the focus, and the support. So, what about a new challenge!?
If you think you can get stars from your midnight sky to solve any of NASA challenges, it's your chance to shine on ✨
