Welcome to 2022 NASA International Space Apps Challenge’s Washington, D.C. event! Registration is now OPEN to take on this year’s challenges with the theme– “Making Space”.
First and foremost, this event is open regardless of coding experience! To encourage collaboration and teamwork of all kinds, we need a variety of perspectives and insights from our hackers. Now in its 11th year, NASA Space Apps is an international hackathon for coders, scientists, designers, storytellers, makers, builders, technologists, entrepreneurs, and others in cities around the world.
Secondly, we emphasize technological access and STEM engagement by acknowledging that anyone can contribute to these otherworldly explorations. With that in mind, the NASA Space Apps challenges use NASA’s free and open data to go about this hack in an equitable way. Since its inception in 2012, NASA’s International Space Apps Challenge has engaged 150,000+ people from 150+ countries to build innovative solutions to challenges we face. Space Apps is a NASA-led global initiative and the largest hackathon organized in collaboration with universities, schools, and industries.
The Washington-DMV area event will be hosted at American University’s Don Myers Technology and Innovation Building on October 1st and 2nd. More information to come soon!
This local Space Apps event is proudly supported by the NASA District of Columbia Space Grant Consortium! (DCSGC)
